When Everything Else Can Wait: Your Holiday Ritual

When Everything Else Can Wait: Your Holiday Ritual

The list gets longer. The days get shorter. And somewhere between wrapping gifts and answering emails, you realize you haven’t actually stopped moving in weeks.

We know this feeling. This is the time of year when everything asks for your attention—and the first thing you let go of is the moment you take for yourself.

But here’s what we’ve learned: The ritual doesn’t have to be long. It just has to be yours.

Not another task. Not something you add to the list. Just a few minutes where you remember that slowing down isn’t selfish – it’s necessary.

Start With Breath

Lunaire Hydrating Botanical Mist is where most of our rituals live. Not because it’s complicated, but because it’s simple. Because closing your eyes and misting your face with ponderosa pine, lavender, turmeric, and aloe does something to your nervous system that you didn’t know you needed.

It’s the inhale. The pause. The reset button you can press whenever the day gets too loud.

Keep it on your bathroom counter. Keep it at your desk. Keep it in your bag. Use it in the morning before you open your laptop. Use it at 3pm when you need to remember you’re a person, not a productivity machine. Use it at night when you’re finally still.

Lunaire isn’t just hydration (though it is that). It’s the breath that reminds you: you’re allowed to stop.

Release What Doesn’t Serve

Ma’ema’e Exfoliating Face Polish is renewal without harshness. It’s soft enough to use every day. It doesn’t strip. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling raw. It just gently reveals what’s underneath – smooth, fresh skin and a moment that belongs only to you.

Mix a small amount with Lunaire (or water) in your palm. The consistency becomes perfect – easy to spread, gentle to massage. Work it into your skin in slow circles. Feel the texture. Notice the release.

Rinse it away. What’s left is softness. Clarity. The sense that you just let go of something you didn’t realize you were holding.

What holds you

Queen of Winter Oil is your foundation. The thing that supports your skin’s barrier, that protects, that gives you a base to stand on when everything else feels unsteady.

After you mist Lunaire, while your skin is still damp, press this oil in. Jojoba, sea buckthorn, cranberry seed, elderflower. It absorbs. It doesn’t sit on top feeling greasy. It becomes part of you.

This is the layer that lasts. The nourishment that stays with you through the day. The protection that means you’re taking care of yourself in a way that actually holds.

If you need more – if your skin is windburned, if you’ve been outside in the cold, if you just need extra support – add Queen of Winter Balm on top. Layer the care. Give yourself what you need.

Building Your Practice

You don’t need a lot of time. You just need a few minutes that are yours.

Morning (3 minutes)

This is how you anchor yourself before the day takes over.

Cleanse your face with warm water (or Earthly Cleansing Oil if you prefer). While your skin is still damp, mist Lunaire generously over your face. Close your eyes. Breathe it in.

If you’re using Ma’ema’e today, mix a small amount with Lunaire in your palm. Massage it onto your face in gentle circles. Rinse.

Mist Lunaire again over damp skin. Press Queen of Winter Oil into your face with your palms. Let it sink in.

Take three deep breaths.

That’s it. You’re anchored. You’re ready.

Midday (30 seconds)

When the chaos builds and you need to come back to yourself: Close your eyes. Mist Lunaire over your face (yes, even over makeup). Breathe deeply three times.

You’re back.

Evening (5 minutes)

This is when you let the day go.

Wash your face. If you didn’t use Ma’ema’e this morning, use it now. Mix it with Lunaire, massage gently, rinse.

Mist Lunaire over damp skin. Press in Queen of Winter Oil.

If your skin needs extra support – if it’s been a hard day, if you’ve been in the cold, if you just need more – add a layer of Queen of Winter Balm.

Breathe. The day is done. You took care of yourself.

When You Need Permission

If you’re reading this and thinking “I don’t have time,” we understand. The holidays make everything feel urgent. Everything feels like it has to happen now.

But here’s the truth: Three minutes in the morning isn’t going to make you late. Thirty seconds at midday isn’t going to derail your productivity. Five minutes at night isn’t stealing time from anyone.

It’s not selfish. It’s necessary.

The ritual is the thing that keeps you steady when everything else is chaos. It’s the anchor. The reset. The moment that reminds you that you matter, too.

You don’t need to do it perfectly. You just need to do it.

You’re Allowed

The holidays don’t require you to do everything. They don’t require perfection.

What they require is finding the thing that steadies you. The ritual that brings you back when everything else pulls you away.

Let this be yours.
